Most of the work of the Parish Council is handled by the appropriate committee of which there are currently six.

Three look after specific projects whilst the three "standing" committees, Community Events, Planning and Policy & Finance, deal with virtually all policy and practical issues.

So, whether it is commenting on a planning application, responding to a Government consultation paper, or determining a policy for the use of the Village Hall car park - or a host of other matters - one of the standing committees will consider the issue and make a recommendation to the full Council.

Twice a year, in August and December because Council does not meet in those months, the standing committees are given delegated powers to act in the name of the Council i.e. the committees make decisions not just recommendations.
